Wat Phra Singh (Gold Temple)

They weren’t kidding when they nicknamed this the Golden Temple! So much of it is gilded in gold, you have to squint your eyes just to look at it! Construction on Wat Phra Singh began in 1345 by King Phayu. Renovations & expansions have continued through modern times. It takes its named from the statue of Phra Buddha Singh, which was brought to the temple in 1367 & now resides in the shrine in the main hall.
