Uluwatu and Garuda Wisnu Kencana Park

We stayed for a few days in Uluwatu, at the very southern tip of Bali, in order to check out the beautiful beaches & to visit the famous cliff top temple located there. Then, we explored an old rock quarry site (turned Hindu cultural park) called, Garuda Wisnu Kencana Park (GWK). The enormous statues and gardens amid giant rock cuts were truly impressive. The main statue of Lord Wisnu (Vishnu) riding the mythical bird, Garuda, is 397 feet high atop its monumental pedestal. That’s 98 feet taller than the Statue of Liberty!

… and a bonus video for you monkey fans out there!
