We are back in London! And therefore we had to go watch the Spurs lose…. twice. The Hotspur women lost 2 – 1 at their home stadium in Leyton, as did the men at their fancy modern stadium in Tottenham. At least the modern stadium was a pleasure to explore, with its space age style and open, airy halls. We also visited Richmond, another suburb of London. It’s where much of the comedy series, Ted Lasso, was filmed. If you’re a fan, you may recognize some of the spots.

The coach (also named Ange) looking hopeful at the start
People actually bungee jump off the railings around this sculpture of the Hotspur’s mascot at the top of the stadium
An unfortunate ending score

The pub’s real name is the Prince’s Head and it is 300 years old!
Glad you got to a soccer game….& must rethink wisteria.
Bummer our team lost both games we went to!
I did wonder just how old that wisteria must have been. At that size, it might even have been upwards of a century old!
😢, but it was, in part, the experience of a match in England with the dedicated throngs. Appealing and unappealing at the same time. Good vibes, witty commentary, and great soccer, versus the throngs.
The throngs definitely added a bit of anxiety at times. Particularly when a deep cough sounded off in close vicinity 😰. The soccer was an incredible experience though, despite the losing … which I’m used too, I guess.
Awesome Pictures. So happy you are settling in quite nicely.
We’ve slipped back into the groove fairly comfortably. A bit of a delay on our posts, but it’s hard to find strong enough WiFi while we’re moving. More to come!
