A short scooter ride outside of Ubud will take you to the village of Tegallalang. There are lots of tourist shops & beautiful rice terraces all around the little village. We enjoyed the views around Tegallalang and took a lazy walk through its rice terraces.
We also visited the Ubud Palace, which is located in the heart of Ubud. Supposedly, the royals of the area still live in the palace, and the interior spaces are off limits to visitors. Fortunately, we were able to visit the maze-like interconnected, walled courtyards, with their ornately decorated gates, shrines & platforms. It was hard to get an overall photographic image of the palace courtyards, so we mostly focused on the intricately detailed stone carvings.
