The beautiful, garden-like temple of Ulun Danu Bratan was built in 1633 on small islands along the shores of Lake Bratan. It’s the main water temple in central Bali, and is devoted to Dewi Danu, the goddess of lakes & rivers. Lake Bratan itself is extremely important, as its outflow is the main source of irrigation water to the surrounding area.
