Mohonk Mountain House

The original Mohonk Mountain House was built by Quaker twin brothers Albert and Alfred Smiley in 1869 as a small resort for family and friends. It was so popular that the brothers enlarged it many times over the years. It currently has 259 guest rooms, and the hotel and lands are still owned by the Smiley family.

We had a lot of fun exploring the grounds around the hotel. Unfortunately, you have to be a guest to enter any part of the hotel, which is crazy expensive, so we didn’t get to explore the interior : / But if the inside is as amazing as the outside, it might just be worth the expense for a super special occasion!
