Luxembourg City

We took a short train ride north from Paris into the tiny, but beautiful country of Luxembourg. After a couple hours staring out the windows at the sparsely populated countryside, we departing the train in the country’s capital, Luxembourg City.

Luxembourg is the ancestral home of Angela’s grandmother, on her father’s side of the family, Hellen Thill. The only record Angela has found that links her to her Luxembourgish ancestry, is a note in her grandmother’s address book, which listed the name of her great grandmother, Lena Meisch, followed by the words ‘Tuntingen, Mersch’.

… and so begins our detective work into the ancestral past of the Meisch family tree. We’ll post more on that later, but first, here are a few pictures from our time in Luxembourg City … enjoy!
