Into Wales

Did you know that the modern Welch name for themselves is Cymry … and the name of their Country is Cymru? I didn’t until we stepped foot in their insanely beautiful lands. Both words are descended from the Brythonic word Combrogi, which can be traced back to a praise poem to Cadwallon ap Cadfan (who was King of the Briton’s in the 7th century), and translates to ‘fellow-countrymen’.
