Here are a final few pictures from our last couple days in Barcelona.
From Barcelona, we took a train inland to the much smaller town of Monistrol de Montserrat. It’s mainly know for its beautiful location on the Llobregat River, which cuts below the eastern face of the Montserrat massif, and its proximity to the famous Benedictine monastery which is perched high on the massif. We’ve included a few pics of our first day there …
The former Hospital of the Holy Cross and Saint Paul, built between 1901 and 1930, is now a Museum and Cultural Center.
Barcelona’s streets may be filled with mopeds, but we only found one with a Bull Terrier sticker ... which clearly makes it the best moped in Barcelona : )
A few pics from the Picasso Museum ...
And we’re off to Monistrol de Montserrat!
Butterfly welcoming committee ...
We think he’s a Spanish Swallowtail.
Catalonian street art ...
The view from our hotel ...
So cool to meet a friend from home. Even cooler when it alights on your hand. Just another bit of beauty to enjoy. Lots of cats in Petaluma this year, including swallowtails & monarchs – finally.
