We took an overnight hike up the Tasman Glacier Valley to Ball Hut, then up onto a ridge line that looks up on the Caroline Face of Mt Cook, the tallest peak in New Zealand. Unfortunately, when we finally got on the ridge line, we could only see the bottom of the Caroline Glacier because there was so much cloud cover. Regardless, it may have been the most spectacular place we’ve ever been too. I couldn’t imagine what it would have been like with clear skies!

I can’t even begin. I want your life. In the nicest way.
This is from Meg, Cruz’s love. All kinds of good things for Melbourne!
If they’re hanging around in the City they should check out Federation Square and some of the museums, there are usually some really quirky exhibits on that are worth a look. Along the river by federation square there are some lovely lunch spots too, I like ‘The Arbory’.
DRINK.
If they like to have a drink there are some awesome weird and cool roof top bars. My favourites ‘Cookie roof top’ or ‘electric union’ (it’s a gin bar if they like gin).
some other funky drink spots ‘boiler maker house’ (whisky tasting bar) or ‘garden state hotel’
FOOD.
They should check out china town.
If they want to spend a little money on a good meal.. Melbourne has INCREDIBLE food. ‘Chin Chin’ is my absolute favourite spot to have an amazing meal. It’s Asian fusion style and it’s delicious.
‘Super normal’, ‘rice paper scissors’, ‘8bit’, ‘fancy hanks bbq resturant’, Touché Hombre’ and Belleville (chicken) are allllll fantastic
BRUNCH.
If you’re in Melbourne then you’ll learn everyone does brunch, it’s a big thing. And there’s lovely brunch spots..
‘The hardware society’, ‘Bowery to Williamsburg’, ‘Manchester press’ and ‘Top paddock’ are great spots.
They should also take a walk in the botanical gardens by the city, it’s very pretty.
And check out the graffiti around Melb city, it’s pretty fantastic.
Ok OUTSIDE the city..
Suburbs surrounding to have an explore..
Brunswick, Richmond and St Kilda which is where the beach is.
SPORTS
January and February is the Australian Open for the tennis.
Go to the Races and bet on the horse racing!
They have to Go see to the AFL (Aussie football) it’s ridiculous but the atmosphere is great.
The cricket is also on in January and February.
OUTSIDE CBD
If they have a car I highly recommend doing ‘The Great Ocean Road’ to see the 12 apostles (which are now only 5).
If they are into hiking they should totally do ‘the Grampians’ I did it and it’s beautiful!
The Yarra valley for lovely Australian winery’s
Mornington peninsular, they have hot springs there and they’re amazing and a nice romantic thing to do as a couple! (Especially at night).
Philip Island is also worth a look, you can see penguins!?
Hope that’s all ok! Ino it’s a lot! Copy and paste it all over and hopefully some stuff in there helps spark some ideas for them!??
There is so much great stuff to do and if they’re going this month they will have great wether! And Australia Day is the 27th which is like 4th of July! So big party everywhere!
If they have any other questions I’m happy to play tour guide! I love this kind of stuff!?❤️

Wow! So awesome! Thanks for passing on the advice big sis … or, if Meg sees this, thank you Meg!! I hope my family didn’t scare you too much over the holidays ; p
Meg sees this; I sent her the link. And she LOVES us; we were on our best behavior.
Yeah, I guess that if Cruz hasn’t scared her off yet … the rest of us are probably looking pretty tame in comparison. ; p
