A brief stop over in England

Here are a few pics from our brief jaunt across England before driving onto Le Shuttle. Le Shuttle is a railway shuttle service that takes passenger vehicles from the United Kingdom to France, under the English Channel.


Here’s a video of the Puffin boarding one of the railway cars on the Le Shuttle train bound for France!

  1. That was a fun post! I’ve seen many of the people and places before, but it brought me home, and love the commentary. And damn, the Puffin in a hallway!

  2. How do you find the driving on the left side of the road? I sense you’ve acclimated, but still….

    Did you stay inside the car the whole way, not that outside would have provided any better viewing opportunities? How long did it take? I guess I could look it all up, but first hand experience. Anything noteworthy, like once we reached France, there was a certain aromatic smell of cooking croissants….

    1. Left side driving was definitely a challenge at first, especially with a van on Cornish roads, which are crazy skinny.

      Stayed inside the van for the entire trip, which only took 35 min. Compared to shortest ferry which takes 90 min, and significantly more chance of motion sick! Didn’t get the croissant aroma so much, as we headed strait for the Belgium waffle perfume …
