Arthur’s Col Panoramic Photo

This pic was taken from the top of Arthur’s Col, which is located in the Arthur’s Pass National Park, South Island, New Zealand.

The views over either side of the col are crazy spectacular!!

The left side of the pic shows our route up the Temple Basin Ski Bowl, with the Page Shelter at the bottom of the ski run. Arthur’s Pass is visible 3,000 feet below at the bottom of the valley.

The middle of the pic shows a triumphant Angela after hiking, scrambling and climbing over 2,900 feet in 2.5 miles to the top of the col. The 6,447 ft summit of Phipps Peak rises up behind her left shoulder …

Right side of the pic shows the 2,500 foot drop to the Mingha River Valley.

    New Panoramic Photo Viewer!

We found a new way to post panoramic pics on our blog : )

If everything works correctly, you should be able to use the navigation bar at the bottom of the pic to zoom in and out, and to scroll around. The button on the far right makes it full screen!

This pic is taken from the second day of our hike on the Kepler Track on the South Island of New Zealand. Enjoy … & there will definitely be more to come!
